NSC Examination 2024 readiness; DBE 2024 Q1 Performance; with Ministry

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) presented its Quarter 1 performance for 2024/25. The Portfolio Committee also reviewed a report from the Department of Basic Education (DBE) and Umalusi on readiness for the upcoming National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations. Committee members raised concerns that there was a noticeable decline in the number of learners progressing from Grade 10 in 2022 to those registered for the NSC in 2024.
