Mamiky Sophy Leolo from SARS, presented the 18th edition of the annual Tax Statistics publication, produced jointly with National Treasury, summarising tax-revenue collections and tax-return data for the 2020/21 to 2024/25 fiscal years. Highlights include a tax-to-GDP ratio of 25.1% in 2024/25, the highest since 1994/95, with tax revenue contributing about 91% of consolidated revenue, plus new data on assessed provisional taxpayers by income group, age and gender. Presented at the 2026 Public Economics Conference.
