Cost implications of the provision of mother-tongue and strong bilingual models of education in Africa

The purpose of this chapter is to explore some of the issues around the costs of implementing both successful and unsuccessful language education programmmes, It wooll also outline some if the initiatives and strategies that van be taken, with minimal cost implications. They can be take in order to continue and expand the work that as already begun in terms of developing stronger education programmes in African languages.
