Securing Africa’s maritime leadership: from policy to action

Africa's maritime ambitions need stronger coordination, stable funding and permanent naval leadership structures to move from policy to practice. Africa can protect its waters, boost trade and power the blue economy, but several obstacles lie in the way. This policy brief makes suggestions about how to turn the continent’s ambitious maritime strategies into real security and prosperity at sea.
