eProcurement dialogue: Integrity by design in eProcurement: Controls implementers can use now

GTAC

Abstract

Presented by Joshua Swart of the African Procurement Law Unit at Stellenbosch University, Integrity by Design in eProcurement: Controls Implementers Can Use Now explores practical ways to strengthen procurement integrity through digital systems. It highlights the importance of preserving auditable records, securing government access to data, and building safeguards into contracts for system continuity and supplier exit. The presentation also shows how structured procurement data can help identify unusual pricing and supplier relationships, while supporting accountable decision-making. The presentation was delivered as part of the SA-EU Dialogue – a partnership between National Treasury, GTAC, GIZ and the European Union which is focused on strengthening public procurement systems in South Africa.
