eProcurement Dialogue: Procurement Integrity, Ethics and Digital Governance

GTAC

Abstract

Presented by GIZ’s Transparency and Integrity Programme (TIP), this resource explores the importance of procurement integrity, emphasising that accountability cannot be delegated to digital systems. It highlights the need to instil ethical conduct in procurement officials and decision makers, ensuring that technology supports responsible decision making while people remain accountable for their actions and procurement outcomes. The paper was delivered as part of the SA-EU Dialogue – a partnership between National Treasury, GTAC, GIZ and the European Union which is focused on strengthening public procurement systems in South Africa.
